The Real Thing

October 23rd, 2007 Posted in Stef Ann Holm Blog by Stef Ann

This past summer, my husband and I took a trip to Boson and New York with our pastor and his wife. They’re a delightful couple and we enjoyed taking in the historic sites. We walked the streets of Little Italy in Boston, amid rain storms that stopped as soon as they started. During one such dash into a bakery (where else would I take shelter in the middle of a downpour? LOL), we ate canoli’s and as I looked out the window, I saw a sign that made my mouth drop open. You can see by the photo what it is. If you’ve read ALL THE RIGHT ANGLES, you’ll figure out the connection. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It was the “real” thing. A figment of my imagination come to life. Who knew?!

  1. Fran Bussie says:

Pomodore was the name of the restaurant where the family had their meetings and celebration, and Franci and her girl friends met every Wednesday night. Also it was owned by the brother Robert.

  2. Mary Lou says:

That’s the name of Francesca’s brother’s restaurant in the book!

    Fran and Mary Lou,

That’s right! I was so surprised to see “Robert’s” restaurant in Boston.

I just finished reading All the Right Angles and loved it. Pomodore is the name of Robert’s restaurant. I hope you will continue with books on the rest of the family. John and Mark both need wives and Mariangela needs some company too. Maybe Moz????

  5. stefann says:

    Helen,

I’m writing John’s story right now. Then Marks’ will follow. And you never know about Moz! I’ve got something going on for him, too.

Thanks to MaryLou, Fran and Helen for getting the answer right!

Francesca’s brothers restaurant. That’s pretty wild.

  7. Ricky says:

If you were in Little Italy in Boston then I know exactly where you were. I love that bakery too – cannoli or ice cream is the best and in the summer people line up for 1/2 hour or more to get in.
