I just discovered your blog today. Since this is November's post, you may not even see this, but decided to take a chance anyway.

My husband and I recently moved back to California after 35 years in Pennsylvania. There, you can't buy anything alcoholic in grocery stores. You must go to state stores for wine and hard liquor and to a beer distributor for beer by the case. Some bars have a license to sell six packs but they charge almost as much for a six pack as case would cost at the distributor.

As long as we lived there, the possibility of eliminating the state system was discussed, but the state would loose too much revenue, so they keep on capitalizing the the peoples desire for alcoholic beverages. See, it could be worse.

By the way, I love your books. Don't know why I didn't discover the blog sooner.
