To Retire or To Write . . . That is the question . . . .

To Retire or To Write . . . That is the question . . . .

I’ve been writing romance novels since 1987 and have been fortunate enough to have had twenty-five titles published–usually one book per year.  Aside from my first book (I sold a completed manuscript), all of them were sold on a partial (first three chapters) or a one page idea.  Because of that, I’ve had a deadline to meet for two decades.

ALL THAT YOU ARE (October 2009) was my last contracted book. After I submitted the manuscript to my editor, I took a year off from writing–my choice. While romance has always been my passion, I’m blessed to be at a place in my life where I can retire.

I tried retiring for a couple of months . . . and then something happened.  I got an idea so exciting that my desk is now covered in four inches of paper, piled high with research books, and my mind doesn’t want to shut off at night.

Needless to say . . . I’m at work on a book from my heart.

I’m so happy your heart decided for you! I have enjoyed your last three books so much, and can’t wait to read all your other work previously published. I look forward to your new book “from the heart”! Happy writing!
